I searched but did not locate any discussion on this topic so, I will ask. Is there a way - Info.plist or other - to cause the supported audio device to be marked as built-in?
My system - HP Pavilion p6340f - provides an ALC888 audio chipset integrated in the system board. However the system profiler does not see the device. VoodooHDA works just fine for me as is. I realize that seeing the sound device in the system profiler as "built-in audio" is only cosmetic. Still, if the option is there, I would use it.
