RAID Boot
« on: January 31, 2010, 06:08:38 PM »
HI I have snow leopard installation,
I installed Chameleon and followed the instructions that came with the latest files.
I installed the boot loaders into all the locations with no error.
I put the extra's folder at the top of the hard drive.
When I reboot I cannot even see my partition in the list, it just shows up my original partition (which is an EFI boot solution not the RAID).
Without Chameleon I can boot into my old partition, however the new partition seems to not bee seen..
What have I got wrong, ? does anyone have any ideas ?

I put the Extra's Folder at the root of the boot Drive…

Do I need to also place it in the OSX Boot Volumes (the helper Volumes as well ?)

Also on another note I used the installer and it placed the Extra's folder inside a hidden folder called Chameleon… Is this standard ?
If so Can I move the Extra folder into a hidden folder called chameleon ?
Is this supported out of the box to do this ?

Thanks a few questions as you can see…

First off, you should be able to do this following the instructions in the read me for _RAID_

That being said, I'd recommend using an external USB with Chameleon and Extra on it.  This means that, if you're doing everything right, some day you could buy a Mac Pro and just install your current drives in it :)
