VoodooHDA 0.2.2 - partially working!
00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:3a3e]
Right now I've got a DVD, iTunes and VLC playing at the same time!
It sounds like a total mess but there are no breakups or anything else wrong with the sound.
Activity monitor is not showing any CPU usage out of the ordinary.
Front Panel Audio is set to AC97 in the BIOS.
Sample rate on all available I/O defaults to 192/24.
Default output is labeled 'Unknown'. Sound comes out of the plug it's supposed to.
Other outputs are 'Headphones', 'Digital-out' and 'SPDIF-out'.
2ch-16 bit and 2ch-24 bit selectable on all outputs and the one input.
Selectable sample rates are 8-192KHz on analog outputs.
Selectable sample rates are 44-192Khz on digital outputs
Only input available is labeled 'CD'
I'm guessing 'SPDIF-out' is the internal SPDIF header on the motherboard.
'Headphones' is the front panel output.
I can't get the "CD" input to respond to anything, I've tried my microphone in all plugs and playing audio on both optical drives.
Maybe the 2000B has provision for it, but there is no analog CD audio input connector on my motherboard.
*edit* yes there is actually, I missed it first time when looking through the manual.
Dragging the master balance slider to the left makes a 'pop' sound in the right speaker and vice versa.
During boot when the sound is initialized I also get a 'pop' sound.
Volume settings seem to stay where they were after a reboot.
Sleep doesn't work for me so I can't test for the distortion issue.
I have no way to test the digital sound outputs but if there's anything else I can do to help please let me know.
