hi,
is there anyway to stop chameleon to use any of the extra folder on my snow leopard drive and just boot the one from the usb boot key I created, because I cannot even boot into -s cause of some changes I made (like adding a dsdt.aml) I need to delete all that and add my old stuff again but I cannot do that on any of my other hacks (cause the boot drive is sata and I dun have a 2 usb adapter right now.
I want it to boot with the kexts I know will work and without any dsdt.aml but even if I boot from a usb key to which I installed all the known good kexts I get stuck during boot because it does see the extra folder and loads the dsdt.aml
help

Yikes, that was some rough English.  Words like "dun" leave me to believe it's your first language though, so my apologies if you're just doing your best to translate.

That said, you should be able to install Chameleon on any USB drive, add your kexts and boot from USB.  This is how I've been booting my computers (3) for over a year.

I wish it still loads both sets of kexts I need it to completly ignore the com.apple.boot.plist and all the other stuff from my extension folder and just load the stuff from the usb drive
it's for repair boot

alright then, use a boot cd to boot your retail disk.  From there, launch terminal and delete your extra folder on your local disk

that dun work either my dvd drive has a hard time with the retail disk I think that drive is dying oh well next month it's time for a bluray drive anyways.
I still would like to be able to command chameleon which extra folder to load, however I used my netbook to install snow on an sata laptop hd in a small enclosure and then I moved it over to the problem child and fixed it that way.
However for future reference it would be nice to be able to do that

PS: rough english considering I got a bachelors  in psych my english should be better; however you got one guess right I did live from nine to 23 in germany so my english has always been far from perfect, I usually do better but sleep deprivation and frustration made me not pay that much attention

Terramir,

if the problem was only the .aml file, you could have just used the user override key, e.g. DSDT=/extra/rescue.aml.
