Change boot options order?
« on: October 12, 2012, 05:14:15 PM »
Hi, I'm hoping someone can answer this for me and hopefully it's a simple problem to solve.

When Chameleon boots it defaults to Mountain Lion which is fine and when I hit a key I get the other bootable drives/partitions I can boot from which is fine, but they are ordered like this:

Option1 -Mountain Lion      Option 2 - Mountain Lion BACKUP      Option 3 - Windows 7

Is there any way of changing the order those 3 appear?

It really annoys me that the backup partition is 2nd in the list and not 3rd as it will probably never be used. I've used rename partition in org.chameleon.boot.plist hoping that renaming them in a different order will help but it doesn't.

Can anyone tell me how to change this or what governs the order they appear in please.

I'd really appreciate it.

Use HidePartition (see boothelp.txt) to hide partitions that you don't want to see in the boot menu.

The order is relative to where Chameleon is installed, the drive that has Chameleon installed on it is always listed first.
