Themes not working after upgrading from RC1 to RC2

I can't get the themes and screen resolution to work after upgrading from RC1 to RC2 I checked the com.apple.boot.plist it is the same file which I modified for the RC1 release. How can I fix this?

The file you used for RC1 should work the same?
When you say you can't get the themes to work, what do you mean? Do you not see the GUI and just text? or you can't change a theme? or it's shown at the wrong resolution?

Sorry with the bad explanation. I got the default GUI Chameleon boot screen after installing RC2 and it's not at the right resolution. But my original boot.plist still showing the right resolution and the theme that I installed. Any ideas?

Which resolution do you want to use as the com.apple.Boot.plist is set to 1680x1050 and the theme.plist is set to 1280x1024? Set them to the same and see what happens.

I would like to use 1680x1050.

I have changed the theme.plist to 1680x1050 but it is not working either.

(It's not even the right theme that I have choose . I have "Choose your os" chosen when I am using RC1 after the installation to RC2 I think it's just simply ignoring the com.apple.boot.plist since everything is not right. The theme is wrong the resolution is wrong even the boot options is wrong, originally I have choose your os installed @ 1680x1050 and it will stop at the boot screen and let me choose either I would boot leopard or windows 7 but now it will just boot leopard straight ahead I need to hit a key to stop the count down and choose the os that I want.) =(

Any ideas? Thanks for the help I know that u guys don't owe me anything.

I think you might have installed Chameleon in 2 separate places. Maybe one on the system partition and one in EFI?
Can you make sure you only have 1 installation of Chameleon?

Yeah, i have the same feeling. I think there's must be default boot.plist somewhere else.

All I did was to install rc2 over rc1 I try to use spotlight to find if there is another boot.plist but no luck same one in the Extra folder! But the funny thing is once I reinstall rc1 again the theme and resolution got right.
I hope there will be a way to fix this since everything in my about this mac is really messed up! I got everything right when I have rc2 installed except the theme and resolution and boot options.

Btw is there any method that I can completely remove Chameleon and reinstall the RC2 I guess this might work.

This might not be the most scientific of methods, but I would try this (which you might have tried anyhow).

If your system works with RC1, then copy your com.apple.Boot.plist and theme files from RC1's /Extra folder to somewhere safe. Upgrade to RC2, then copy back your files to /Extra.

See if that works.

Okay I tried to install Chameleon RC2 with my USB thumb drive and boot from it. Everything went right I mean the resolution and themes etc... but it's slow.... lol! Any chance that I could fix this? I have no idea what's going on since I am just trying to cover the existing RC1 with RC2 using the same installation method!

Hope there will be an easier way to fix this since I am not so good with terminal. I just bought this new PC and started my Hackintosh life! I migrated from an old old G5 system! Everything just used to work out of the box before But I am still very happy with this new machine!  OSX ROCKS!
