Hey,
recently modified ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext to enable native speedstepping on my vanilla install. Doing so however messed up my audio. No matter what sound I play it comes out distorted and/or chopped up. dmesg/syslog contains no clues. But I believe it's a timer issue, because whenever I move the mouse around (an interrupt gets called) the distortion goes away.
I had NO problems with distortion using various third-party speedstep kernel extensions (VoodooPower & IntelEnhancedSpeedStep). I've been through my smbios.plist and everything is okay as far as bus speed goes...
I've tried booting with and without my modified ACPI tables (DSDT.aml) thinking that the HPET fix might have something to do with it, but no luck - distortion is still there...
Any ideas how to solve this?
